Report: Netflix Acquires Rights to Documentary Series on Cowboys’ Jerry Jones

Netflix is acquiring the new docuseries that centers around Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for $50 million, according to Puck News. The deal isn’t finalized, but Netflix has appeared to outbid ESPN in a bidding war for the new show.

The new series will focus on the franchise in the 90s and its ascension to living up to the title of “America’s Team.” It will also feature “never-seen footage and interviews” from the likes of all-time greats like Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith.

Dallas won three Super Bowls in the 90s thanks to its incredible rosters put together by Jones, who to this day serves as both the team’s owner and general manager.

It’s unclear when the new product will hit the streaming platform or how many episodes it will be, but the Dallas franchise has always made for must-watch football, and revisiting the glory days of the organization will undoubtedly evoke some nostalgia from longtime fans.
