Report: Multiple Dolphins players called their agents to ask for trades after blowout loss

The Miami Dolphins were supposed to be bad heading into this season, but few could have expected them to be so unspeakably bad that players have already given up on the team after one game.

Well, that appears to be what’s happening after the Dolphins’ 59-10 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. According to a report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, multiple players placed calls to their agents after the game to ask for a trade out of Miami.

Nobody likes tanking, especially in a brutal sport like football where a wasted season affects those small career windows. So, you can’t blame the Dolphins for not being on board with the two-year race for Trevor Lawrence. But after Week 1? Spirits are not high in that locker room.

Via ProFootballTalk:

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, multiple Dolphins players contacted their agents after Sunday’s season-opening blowout loss and directed them to attempt to engineer trades elsewhere. The players believe that the coaching staff, despite claiming that they intend to try to win, aren’t serious about competing and winning and by all appearances have bought into the notion that the Dolphins will take their lumps now in the hopes of laying the foundation via high draft picks for building a successful team later.

Maybe these players should place a call to Antonio Brown. He knows how to get the ball rolling with forcing a way out of a team.
