Report: MRI on Le’Veon Bell’s shoulder comes back clean

After the Jets received bad news regarding Sam Darnold’s health on Thursday, they were dealt another blow when Le’Veon Bell was sent for an MRI on his shoulder.

Jets fans can now take a breath of fresh air, however, as Bell’s MRI came back clean according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Adam Gase told reporters that he believed Bell’s issue with his shoulder was merely soreness and the team didn’t think it was much beyond that. New York sent its star running back for tests just to ensure there was no structural damage to Bell’s shoulder.

Returning to the field after a year-long hiatus, Bell played all 66 of the Jets’ offensive snaps in Week 1 against the Bills. He didn’t miss a beat against Buffalo, rushing 17 times for 60 yards to go along with six receptions for 32 yards and one touchdown. He also caught a two-point conversion pass from Darnold.

With Trevor Siemian taking Darnold’s place under center until he gets healthy, it’s imperative for the Jets that Bell takes the field. The reported results of the MRI are a major step in the right direction when it comes to Bell’s chances of suiting up against the Browns in Week 2.
