Report: Minnesota re-signing guard Dakota Dozier

Minnesota has reportedly taken care of three reserve offensive linemen in free agency.

The team will reportedly re-sign Rashod Hill, Brett Jones, and now Dakota Dozier. Hill is a swing tackle, Jones is a center and Dozier is a guard. The Vikings will get some continuity on the offensive line with those decisions.

Per Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, Dozier will re-sign with the team for the veteran minimum of $910,000 plus a $90,000 signing bonus.

This isn’t exactly a huge splash in free agency, but Dozier still gives Minnesota much-needed depth in a position that the team has struggled with in seasons past.

Dozier started four games last season, including wins against the Eagles and the Lions. The Vikings announced in the offseason that they terminated the contract of guard Josh Kline, so it’s possible that Dozier could fight for a starting position in 2020-21. You can read more about the Kline decision, and what the team can do next, here.
