Report: Michael Crabtree’s deal with Cardinals worth up to $5.5 million

The Arizona Cardinals announced they agreed to terms with veteran receiver Michael Crabtree Wednesday night. Unlike many late free agent signings like the Cardinals have had in the past, this one does not come cheaply.

Crabtree will earn far more than the league minimum.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Crabtree’s contract is for a base salary of $3.25 million but can be worth up to another $2.25 million in incentives.

The total possible value of the contract could be as much as $5.5 million.

In a previous report, when the Cardinals and Crabtree could not come to terms, the offer was for a salary of $2.5 million and a total possible value of $4 million.

Crabtree is entering his 11th season and has had a productive career. He has had more than 1,000 receiving yards twice and more than 80 catches three times. He caught 54 passes for 607 yards for the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. With those numbers, he would have been second on the team in both categories in 2018.
