Report: Luke Falk files injury grievance against Jets

Former Jets quarterback Luke Falk has filed an injury grievance against New York through the NFL Players Association.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Falk has a hip injury that requires surgery. The grievance comes less than a month after the Jets released Falk, a move that coincided with Sam Darnold’s return from mononucleosis.

New York has yet to comment on the situation.

Falk is the second player to file an injury grievance against the Jets in the past three weeks. Former starting offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele filed a grievance with the players association two weeks ago in an effort to recoup lost wages. Osemele was released after undergoing shoulder surgery that was not authorized by the Jets. He was also fined for not practicing despite his shoulder pain.

Falk appeared in three games for the Jets and made two starts, throwing for 416 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions. He was not listed on New York’s injury report prior to his release in Week 6.

Between a 1-7 record and a handful of questionable off-field decisions, 2019 has been a disaster for the Jets. Falk’s grievance is the latest issue the organization will now have to deal with.
