Report: Lions worked out RB Jeremy Hill

Jeremy Hill seems like an odd choice for the Detroit Lions, but the former Cincinnati Bengals running back worked out for the team at the training facility in Allen Park. That’s per a report from ESPN’s Field Yates from Friday. That came a day after the Lions acquired RB Tra Carson and parted ways with Paul Perkins.

Hill splashed onto the NFL scene in 2014, topping 1,100 rushing yards for the Bengals as a second-round rookie from LSU. At 230 pounds, Hill showed quick feet and good balance. He led the NFL in rushing TDs a year later.

In the last two seasons, Hill has fallen off a cliff. The Bengals cut him after an injury-plagued 2017, and he saw action in just one game for the New England Patriots in 2018.

Hill has an unsavory past that includes a guilty plea for a sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl and an assault on a fellow bar patron captured on video where Hill sucker-punched the victim from behind and rendered him unconscious.
