Report: Lions will sign WR Danny Amendola

Danny Amendola will be a Detroit Lions wide receiver in 2019.

So says a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, who noted the Lions have already agreed to a 1-year contract with the ex-Dolphins (and Patriots) wideout.

Amendola caught 59 passes for 575 yards and 1 TD in his one season in Miami. He played five years in New England, snagging 230 passes at just over 10 yards per reception. He operates almost exclusively out of the slot at 5-11 and 190 pounds.

The 33-year-old has also been a punt return specialist for most of his career.

Amendola adds immediate depth to a Lions receiving corps that has Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and a host of question marks.
