Report: Lions plan to meet with Toledo CB Ka’Dar Hollman

The Detroit Lions plan to meet with University of Toledo cornerback Ka’Dar Hollman, according to NFL Insider Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Hollman was a longshot to hear his name called until draft day, but strong showings at the East-West Shrine Game and his pro day have seemed to draw some interest from several NFL teams, including Detroit.

With 35 starts at cornerback in 41 games, Hollman was a leader of the Rockets’ defense. In his college career, he racked up 113 tackles, 27 passes defended and two interceptions.

Hollman is a raw prospect with the physical tools to help him find his way onto an NFL roster. With a 4.38 second forty-yard dash, a 38.5-inch vertical jump, and a 6.81 second 3-cone, he showed that he has the speed, explosion, and agility to make it as a pro.

His athleticism, paired with his positional versatility and ability to play special teams, make him an attractive late-round draft choice for the Lions.

With four picks in the last two rounds of the draft and a big hole to fill at cornerback, it’s no wonder that Detroit is taking a look at the small-school defensive back.

At this time, it is unclear if the team is just bringing in Hollman for a workout or if they are setting up a formal meeting with him.
