Report: Lions meeting with Ricky Jean Francois on a possible return

The Detroit Lions welcomed back a familiar face on Tuesday. Defensive tackle Ricky Jean Francois visited with the Lions on the day before veterans report for training camp.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the veteran free agent was in Allen Park.

Jean Francois played in all 16 games for the Lions last season, starting 11. The 32-year-old recorded 30 tackles and 2 sacks while playing at a variety of defensive line spots. He was on a one-year deal and has not signed with anyone else.

The veteran quickly established himself as a positive leadership presence and reliable resource for honest, self-aware quotes on the state of the team. He has a variety of business interests outside of football as well.
