Report: Lions had a lengthy, impromptu meeting with Indiana OL Wes Martin

It appears the Detroit Lions have some unexpected interest in Indiana offensive lineman Wes Martin. The team spent over an hour talking with him following Martin’s very impressive pro day workout.

From the Hoosier Sports Report synopsis of the IU pro day from April 2nd,

In front of representatives from 26 NFL teams, Martin did 38 reps of 225 pounds, backing up his reputation as the strongest player on Indiana’s football team. It also seemed to put him on the radar of at least one organization, with the Detroit Lions conducting an impromptu, post-workout meeting with Martin that lasted more than an hour.

Also from the report, Martin has been working on snapping skills to help facilitate a possible move to center. He was a four-year starter at left guard for the Hoosiers. Martin was not at any postseason all-star games or the combine.

Thanks to Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot for unearthing the info!
