Laquon Treadwell, a first-round pick for the Vikings who struggled in his time with the team, is reportedly moving on.
A league source told WSB-TV’s Zach Klein that the Atlanta Falcons are signing Treadwell.
The wide receiver entered free agency this offseason. The Vikings re-signed Treadwell for this season after previously waiving him.
Minnesota drafted him with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2016 draft. Treadwell has 701 receiving yards in his career.
Personally, I think it’s a good choice that Treadwell should move on. He earned a lot of hype out of college at Ole Miss, but he hasn’t performed consistently well with Minnesota.
Maybe the Falcons, a team that has a history of utilizing talented receivers, will be able to get something out of Treadwell that the Vikings could not. His time in Minnesota probably didn’t go as planned, but a change of teams could maybe rejuvenate a player who’s still pretty young.
