Report: Lakers willing to trade anybody but LeBron or AD to improve

Although nearly all of the contracts signed during the spending frenzy of 2016 are coming off the books this summer, opening up cap space for a lot of teams, many experts are anticipating a quiet trade deadline. But with a month to go until the Feb. 6 deadline, it’s far too early to make such rulings. In case you needed some more proof, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to be aggressive in their quest for a championship.

The Lakers, who have been mentioned to be listening to deals for third-year forward Kyle Kuzma, are willing to trade anybody on the roster, other than LeBron James and Anthony Davis, to improve their title hopes, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Kuzma is easily their most tradeable asset given that he’s on his rookie contract and is really the only young player on the Lakers roster who has shown he can score consistently at the NBA level. While it’s unclear what the interest level would be on the other youngsters like Alex Caruso and Talen Horton-Tucker, the latest report shows that basically nobody is safe on the Lakers roster other than the stars. Until Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. EST, that is.
