Report: Lakers expect Lonzo Ball back after All-Star break

The Los Angeles Lakers past week has been littered with transactions, rumors and trades. It would be fair if you forgot there was a real basketball team that have a playoff berth on the line. But with only a few days left before the upcoming All-Star break, the Lakers are getting some encouraging news on the status of a key player.

Lonzo Ball, who has been out since Jan. 19 with a grade 3 left ankle sprain, could make his return after the All-Star break.

From Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times

The Lakers are also expecting to get Ball back after the All-Star break. The point guard suffered a left ankle sprain Jan. 19 against the Houston Rockets and was expected to be out four to six weeks.

The Lakers have only two more games left until the break, with Sunday’s matinee matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers and Tuesday’s visit to the Atlanta Hawks.

Thanks to the All-Star break the Lakers will have another nine days between games before coming back home for their Feb. 21 game against the Houston Rockets, which will be over a month since Ball suffered the injury.
