Report: Kyler Murray’s hamstring injury is minor

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray suffered some hamstring tightness in the third quarter of the team’s 27-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. He had an MRI Monday and it appears there is nothing serious.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there was “nothing alarming” in the results. He suffered a “regular, minor hamstring pull.”

He will be day-to-day with his status. Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Monday that he wouldn’t hold Murray out of the season finale against the Los Angeles Rams on the road unless he is healthy.

“If he’s able to play, he’s going to play,” he said. However, Kingsbury also said he won’t play him unless he is 100% healthy.

The Cardinals begin practice a day earlier than normal this week because of Christmas. They practice on Tuesday and then will have Wednesday off, followed by practices on Thursday and Friday.

If Murray can’t play, backup quarterback Brett Hundley will get his first start of the season.
