Report: Knicks Reggie Bullock ‘drawing interest’ from Boston Celtics

Could the Boston Celtics have interest in signing New York Knicks wing Reggie Bullock? According to the New York Post’s Marc Berman, that seems to be the case. But, before we go out and buy ourselves some Bullock Celtics jerseys, it’s wise to dive a little deeper into what this means from Boston’s point of view.

The Celtics could use a bigger wing like the Kinston native and the 41% 3-point shooting he provided New York last season, but so could the Knicks, who have cap space to sign him to something larger than the $5.9 million mini mid-level exception Boston could offer him. Plenty of teams are interested in Bullock for what he brings to the table, and perhaps there is a small chance the Celtics have enough championship potential brewing that Bullock might want to get on board while the roster shapes up towards that goal.

Much more likely, the team reached out to his representation in case that might be how the Knicks wing sees things, with a New York return being far more likely given Madison Square Garden’s home team isn’t doing all that bad of late either.

It’s also possible this is coming from an agent, with the intention to get teams to re-sign players on Boston’s or New York’s side of the offer sheet, given the Knicks might have eyes for Evan Fournier.
