Report: Klutch Sports didn’t formally recruit Zion Williamson

The likely No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft Zion Williamson made some news this by picking CAA as his representation with less than a month to go before the NBA Draft.

In the weeks since Williamson declared for the draft, there was speculation about who he would chose to sign with. And more than once, the name of Klutch Sports came up in association with Williamson. However, a report from The Athletic’s Joe Vardon pushed back on the notion that CAA somehow won over Klutch in a Zion Sweepstakes.

Even without Zion, Klutch still has a great roster of players from the 2019 draft class including likely lottery pick Darius Garland, as well as another likely first rounder in Darius Bazley. Bazley also made headlines for his one-of-a kind $1 million internship with New Balance last year.

Klutch were also rumored to be interested in Duke’s Cam Reddish, who was spotted at a Lakers game with Rich Paul, before the likely lottery pick eventually chose to sign with Octagon.
