Report: Klay Thompson will have ACL surgery later this week

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson — a multi-time All-Star and one-half of the Splash Brother duo that led the team to five-straight Finals appearances and three championships — probably won’t have the best summer. An awkward landing in Game 6 of the NBA Finals resulted in a knee injury that ended the Warriors’ three-peat hopes.

The injury was later diagnosed as a torn ACL. Surgery did not proceed right away as it is common to wait for swelling to subside first. But now, apparently, the time has come for Thompson do go under the knife.

According to Anthony Slater with The Athletic, Warriors general manager Bob Myers “said he’s hearing that Thompson’s ACL surgery has been scheduled for later this week.”

Thompson, who was seen in L.A. walking with a cane recently, is probably excited to get the surgery over with so he can start the rehabilitation process.

In addition to the cane, Thompson is sporting bedroom slippers — grocery store attire that might rival only former teammate JaVale McGee’s.

But the questions many in Dub Nation may have about this photo are:

1) For whom is Thompson buying flowers?

2) Where’s Rocco?
