Golden State Warriors big man Kevon Looney is reported to miss at least two more weeks because of neuropathy in his right hamstring, per the team’s public relations Twitter account.
Looney was put through a “battery of tests” for the neuropathic condition. His status will be reevaluated and updated in the next two weeks, according to the Warriors’ release.
During training camp Looney suffered a tweaked hamstring and missed the whole preseason. He played in the season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, but didn’t play in the second half because he had tightness in the hamstring.

Looney hasn’t played a game since the Warriors’ opener. Steve Kerr said to media in October that Looney has had a neuropathic condition for a few years, per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.
He played a career-high 80 games in 2018-19 after not playing more than 66 games in the season before. Looney also had a career-high 24 starts last year.
Looney suffered a costal cartilage injury in the 2019 NBA Finals when Kawhi Leonard ran into him on a drive to the basket. He healed from the injury during the offseason, but with his injury history, it’d be wise for him and the Warriors to take their time when it comes to his return.
