Report: Kevin Durant is not ready ahead of Game 5 of the NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors are in the most dire situation they’ve experienced during this dynasty run they have been on during the last five seasons. They dropped Game 4 at home, 105-92, and trail the Toronto Raptors 3-1 in the NBA Finals.

They have been working without superstar Kevin Durant, who has been out with a calf strain suffered in Game 5 of the semifinals with the Houston Rockets. The Warriors started out strong without him winning — their first five games, including a sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. But they have been hit with a rude awakening from the Raptors.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the possibility of Durant playing in Game 5 is not very good:

Durant just isn’t ready. His body is not ready. The trainers don’t believe it. He doesn’t believe it. He tried to do some stuff at practice yesterday (Thursday). It didn’t work.

It looks like the Warriors will have to begin this serious uphill climb without Durant on Monday when they attempt to take the first step to stay in series by winning just one game.

This is a tested, veteran, championship-winning team and they have a chance to prove that again. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will have to get help from the rest of their teammates to get this done.
