Report: Kerryon Johnson expected to miss some time with his knee injury

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lions running back Kerryon Johnson will miss “some time” with the knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Johnson injured the knee in the first quarter of the game and did not return. Schefter said Johnson will be week-to-week with the injury.

Earlier on Monday, Lions coach Matt Patricia sounded a more optimistic tone when asked about the starting RB’s outlook.

“I know he met with the doctors this morning. We rolled into a team meeting, and then went into offensive and defensive meetings, so I’ll get together with them,” Patricia said. “I saw him, and he said he was fine, but it wasn’t really a deep conversation as far as that’s concerned. Hopefully I’ll have an update tomorrow once I talk to the doctors.”

Johnson has battled injury issues throughout his career, dating back to high school. He missed the final six games of his rookie season with a different knee injury.
