Report: Justin Tucker’s 4-year extension worth $23.05 million

The Baltimore Ravens are giving kicker Justin Tucker a contract extension. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a four-year deal worth $23.05 million. The extension includes $12.5 million fully guaranteed over the first two years along with an $8 million signing bonus.

With a $5.76 million-per-season average, Tucker is now the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, according to Over The Cap. It bests the $4.25 million-per-year deal the New England Patriots gave kicker Stephen Gostkowski this month. The extension comes a day after San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould requested a trade.

While the contract extension will inflate Tucker’s cap hit, it keeps the league’s best kicker with the Ravens for the foreseeable future. Tucker is the most accurate kicker in the history of the NFL, with a 90.1% field goal rate. Kickers are a valuable commodity, so Tucker’s extension makes plenty of sense.
