Report: Julio Jones to play vs. Vikings

After getting paid with a nice little extension, Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones will indeed play in Week 1 against the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jones was dealing with a knee injury, but wasn’t on the team’s injury report heading into the game, so this isn’t exactly a surprise.

Xavier Rhodes and the Vikings defensive backfield will have their hands full with Jones, who has eclipsed 1,400 yards in each of the last five seasons.

In four career games against the Vikings, Jones has been held in check, totaling just 13 catches for 162 yards and no touchdowns.

A player like Jones, though, could absolutely go off like we’ve seen him do time and time again throughout his career.

We’ll see if Mike Zimmer’s defense can limit Jones’ productivity in this one.
