Report: Jonathon Jones avoids fine for hit on Bills’ Josh Allen

Jonathon Jones will avoid a fine after a controversial helmet-to-helmet hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, according to ESPN’s Ian Rapoport.

The New England Patriots pulled away with a 16-10 win in this game and the hit took Allen out in the third quarter. It caused uproar throughout the NFL and Bills head coach Sean McDermott believed that Jones should’ve been ejected from the game.

There were a few angles that made the hit look malicious, but the NFL determined that Jones turned his shoulder to stop the runner. This angle shows that argument more clearly than the rest.

Jones told reporters that he was going to check up on Josh Allen after the game and he followed through with his word. Allen cleared his concussion protocol and will play in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans.
