Report: Jonathan Vilma joining Saints preseason broadcast team

A familiar face may be joining the broadcast team for New Orleans Saints preseason games. Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune reported that former Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will join Joel Meyers, Jon Stinchcomb, and sideline reporter Meghan Payton to preview and commentate on each exhibition game.

It’s the latest feather in Vilma’s cap after he retired from the NFL back in 2014. He also works for ESPN as a college football analyst, and has made guest spots for Bleacher Report. Vilma, a proud Miami Hurricanes alumnus, is a sitting member on the Orange Bowl Committee. The Saints added Vilma to their team Hall of Fame in 2017.

Vilma will join Stinchcomb as another member of the Super Bowl XLIV-winning squad to take a spot in the local media circuit; longtime right tackle Zach Strief and former running back Deuce McAllister also call games on WWL Radio. He should be a welcome addition to the lineup, and we’re already looking forward to any anecdotes he can share from the colorful teams in recent Saints history.
