Cincinnati Bengals star running back Joe Mixon won’t be on the field for his team during a Week 7 meeting with the Cleveland Browns.
And that could just be the start of his absence.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mixon is considering week-to-week with the foot injury that will hold him out Sunday.
Meaning, Mixon is a big question mark for his team’s Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans, too.
And this one isn’t too much of a surprise given the fickle nature of foot injuries for running backs. Mixon suffered it during a Week 6 loss to Indianapolis, yet returned to that game before missing every practice this week.
At this point, the Bengals might choose to play it safe with their star back, holding him out of Week 8 so he can rest on the bye and return at 100 percent for Week 10 on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
