Report: Jets to hire Colts’ Rex Hogan as assistant GM

It seems the Indianapolis Colts will already lose a member of their coveted front office as the New York Jets are reportedly hiring Rex Hogan to the be the assistant general manager to Joe Douglas.

Hogan—who was the Colts’ vice president of player personnel since the 2017 offseason—will join the Jets as the assistant general manager. Hogan was the director of college scouting for the Jets before being hired by Chris Ballard.

The news was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Hogan has been a big part of the Colts’ rebuild since joining the front office in 2017. He, along with Ballard and Ed Dodds, have been the biggest contributors to the construction of the roster that has Indy set to be contenders for the foreseeable future.

Hogan was a college scout with the Chicago Bears from 2003-12 where he became a national scout from 2013-15. He then joined the Jets to be the director of college scouting in 2015 until coming to Indy.
