Report: Jets interested in Ravens LB C.J. Mosley

With Kwon Alexander off the board, the Jets have shifted their focus to Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley.

According to the New York Post’s Brian Costello, the Jets are interested in Mosley, who was not franchise tagged by the Ravens. However, there is a huge market for the defensive star, so the Jets will have a lot of competition from other teams.

The 26-year-old linebacker has been a stud since entering the league in 2014 out of Alabama. He’s been a Pro Bowler in four out of his five seasons with the Ravens and has recorded over 100 tackles in every single season with the exception of 2016 when he only had 92.

Mosley also has the ability to play in pass coverage. For his career, he has 35 pass defenses and nine interceptions. Mosley is simply an all-around linebacker who is still young and in his prime.

The Jets already have two inside linebackers on their roster with Avery Williamson and Darron Lee. However, if the Jets signed somebody like Mosley, Lee would surely be on his way out the door either via trade or release.

With Mosley being the top inside linebacker on the market right now, his price tag won’t be cheap. Luckily for the Jets, they have the second most cap space in the league entering free agency.
