Report: Jets defensive lineman involved in car accident

Charles Tapper is believed to be alright after he got into a car accident this past weekend, according to Mike Leslie of ABC’s WFAA in Dallas.

The Jets defensive lineman was driving a car that belonged to his former Cowboys teammate, Maliek Collins, according to Leslie. Leslie added that Tapper is not thought to be seriously hurt, though he did not have full confirmation. Collins was not in the car at the time of the accident.

Dallas used a fourth-round pick on Tapper in 2016, but the Cowboys only got two games out of the Oklahoma product. He recorded a sack and three tackles during the 2017 season before getting cut.

The Jets signed Tapper to a reserve/future contract on January 4.
