Report: Jerry Sullivan to remain on Cardinals coaching staff through season

The Arizona Cardinals appear to set to keep Jerry Sullivan around for a while. The highly-respected coach had a deal in place to help coach the team’s wide receivers through training camp, assisting David Raih, who is the team’s receivers coach.

According to The Athletic’s Scott Bordow, Sullivan told him he will stay on the staff and coach all season.

Sullivan has more than 40 years of coaching experience and is adored by Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

With a young group of receivers on the team — as many as four rookies and second-year players are on track to make the team — his wisdom and his techniques will be great for the team.

Raih is not shy about praising Sullivan. According to AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban, Raih called Sullivan “Mr. Miyagi” and “the legend.”

Sullivan is not officially listed yet by the team on its full-time coaching staff but he surely will be listed soon.
