Report: Jaylen Brown confirms that he’s hired agent Jason Glushon

Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown has confirmed that he’s hired agent Jason Glushon of Glushon Sports Management, per the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach. Brown, who had went the first three seasons of his career without hiring an agent, was originally reported to have hired representation by ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan on Oct. 9.

“It’s just what’s best for me,” Brown said (per Himmelsbach).

“I don’t really want to talk about it. I think [talking] is a distraction. But I made my decision and I move on.”

Glushon also represents notable clients like former Celtics and current Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford, as well as New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday and Detroit Pistons wing Joe Johnson. Horford and Holiday are under contract for a combined $240.8 million.

Brown is eligible for a rookie scale contract extension but has until Oct. 21 to reach a deal with the Celtics. Should Brown and Boston fail to reach a deal by the deadline, the Georgia-native will become a restricted free agent after the 2019-20 season.
