Report: Jags to interview former Raven Zach Orr for LBs coaching job

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ staff isn’t complete yet, but when it is, the group could include former NFL players. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, one name to watch is that of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Zach Orr, who has an interview set up with Urban Meyer to potentially be the Jags’ linebackers coach.

Per Josina Anderson, the interview will take place on Friday.

Orr, 28, retired from the NFL in 2017 because of a congenital spine condition. That led to him joining his former team as a coaching analyst the same year.

Under his role with the Ravens, he was tasked with shadowing defensive coordinator Don Martindale and sat in on special teams meetings. Orr’s offseason duties included work on the personnel side like player evaluations.

Orr will interview with the Jags as former Ravens coaches Joe Cullen and Sterling Lucas are expected to join the organization. Cullen, who will be the Jags’ defensive coordinator, worked on the same staff with Orr and Lucas for four seasons.

Lucas spent three seasons in the NFL as a player and accumulated 163 total tackles. His time as a player for the Ravens started in 2014 after he was acquired as a undrafted free agent out of North Texas.
