REPORT: Jags part ways with WR Terrelle Pryor after injury settlement

After retaining receiver Terrelle Pryor Jr. by placing him on injured reserve, it appears the Jacksonville Jaguars will let him be a free agent after all. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Pryor is now healthy from his hamstring issues and has successfully reached an injury settlement with the Jaguars, putting him on the open market.

Pryor, 30, joined the Jags in late May due to the team looking for depth at receiver and his relationship with Jags offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, who coached him while with the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns. In the early stages of training camp and prior, he impressed and many fans wanted to see him make the roster to help give the receivers corps a big-bodied target on the back end of the depth chart.

Unfortunately, when the preseason arrived Pryor sustained a hamstring issue in which held him out for three games. However, he did manage to accumulate three catches for 26 yards Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins before exiting the game with his hamstring flaring up.

As a journeyman receiver, it’s unlikely that fans have seen the last of Pryor. In fact, with injuries bound to occur Week 1, it might not take long at all for a team to give the veteran a call.
