Report: Jags CB Jalen Ramsey planning to return to team’s facility Wednesday

Coming into the week, the biggest question surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars was whether their star cornerback Jalen Ramsey would be practicing after demanding a trade and not rescinding the request. It appears we may now have some clarity.

Per Josina Anderson of ESPN, the fourth-year corner has plans to return to the Jags’ facility Wednesday after missing Monday (though he checked in with the team doctor at the facility) with what her colleague, Adam Schefter, reported was the flu.

Ramsey’s saga with the Jags began last Monday after the team’s loss to the Houston Texans. A report surfaced stating that Ramsey went to his agent, David Mulugheta, to demand a trade from Jacksonville. It was later revealed that the reason for that request was because of a meeting between Ramsey and Jags football operations executive, Tom Coughlin, that resulted in a “disrespectful” exchange.

It’s unknown what caused the meeting and what was said during it, but it is worth noting that the All-Pro had previously gotten into an altercation with Jags coach Doug Marrone during Week 2’s game against Houston. While being walked to the bench, Ramsey lightly shoved Marrone, who then came over and exchanged words with him. The two had to be separated, but eventually patched things up the following week

It’s unknown if Ramsey will be on the field with his teammates Wednesday, but if he was diagnosed with the flu or any illness by the team doctor, he may appear on the injury report if he’s still dealing with it. If he doesn’t appear on the injury report, that would hopefully point to him playing Week 4 against the Denver Broncos.
