Jack Jones released on $30K bail, given next court date in airport weapons case

After being arraigned and pleading not guilty to gun charges at East Boston District Court on Tuesday, New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones has been released on bail.

The second-year defensive back was arrested Friday at a security checkpoint at Logan International Airport after allegedly attempting to board a flight with firearms. Per the Boston 25 News broadcast, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Jones was released on $30,000 bail.

He is due back in court on Aug. 18, the same day as the Patriots’ second preseason game.

Jones, 25, declined to comment when Boston 25 News cameras caught him arriving at court. He faces two counts each of the following charges: possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport; possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card; unlawful possession of a firearm; carrying a loaded firearm; and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

Jones could face jail time if convicted.
