Report: Isaiah Wynn expected to be ready for training camp

The New England Patriots were without their first-round left tackle Isaiah Wynn last season after he tore his achilles.

Instead, they were able to replace him with Trent Brown — who is now with the Oakland Raiders. Wynn’s recovery has been slow and steady, but the Patriots still weren’t sure if he’d be ready for the 2019 season. So, they went out and signed Jared Veldheer — who retired less than ten days after being signed.

The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reported some promising news about Wynn on Friday that’s optimistic towards his return.

“Left tackle Isaiah Wynn is expected to be ready for training camp,” Howe wrote. “He has been running at full speed, which is always an important benchmark for a player following an Achilles tear.”

Wynn still has until the beginning of training camp on July 24, so he’s on perfect pace to make a full recovery.
