No one is volunteering for Hard Knocks it’s just not happening. That means the NFL and HBO only had five teams to choose from since only five teams can be forced into the position of having cameras following them around during training camp. Well, reportedly there are only four teams now. Apparently, the Niners are out of the running.
That leaves the Raiders, Lions, Redskins, and Giants as the four teams available. Only two of those teams are actually entertaining episodes. The Raiders would be fun because anything Gruden is unintentionally funny. The Giants would be entertaining because they are kind of a dumpster fire right now. The Lions would be OK, but there are no compelling storylines. The Redskins are very blah.
The Niners could have been intriguing. It’s getting to be a make or break year for San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan has had three years to install his system. They’ve spent big bucks on Jimmy Garropolo. George Kittle could be the best tight end in the NFL and he’s been entertaining on social media and podcast interviews.
The Niners young defense could also use some more exposure. They have some highly drafted players. They just traded for Dee Ford. Maybe the bright lights would have made them step up.
They won’t have that option as the Niners are out of the running. Let’s go Raiders!
