A slow news day calls for some housekeeping notes from the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, who reported that Gunner Olszewski, an undrafted wide receiver who signed with the New England Patriots last week, signed a rookie minimum deal with the Patriots. He also got a $2,500 signing bonus.
A rookie minimum deal is one-year, $480,000.
Olszewski, a former Div. 2 cornerback standout, will have a mountain of a challenge ahead of him, as he will compete with 11 other receivers during spring practices and training camp to make the roster. A practice squad invite may be more likely for him.
