Report: Griffen believes that when he visits teams, there will be a strong market for him

Everson Griffen was one of the Vikings’ biggest free agents this offseason, but the defensive end still hasn’t signed with any team.

So why has it taken so long? The Athletic’s Chad Graff reported that Griffen wants to visit teams in person before deciding where he’ll play.

The coronavirus pandemic closed down NFL facilities, but the NFL has started allowing teams to reopen under state and local guidelines. Here’s what Graff said about Griffen’s situation:

“His hope is that he’ll soon be able to visit different franchises,” Graff said. “and (he) believes that when he does, there will be a strong market for him.”

Griffen had eight sacks in a resurgent year with the Vikings last season. Both Griffen and Jadeveon Clowney are considered among the top pass rushers available this offseason. Neither of them have signed with a team yet.

The Vikings have submitted a plan to reopen TCO Performance Center, but the team is still working remotely for now, according to the Star Tribune.
