Report: Greg Olsen in contract negotiations with three teams

Greg Olsen wrapped up visits on Friday and is in contract negotiations with three teams, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

His potential landing spots right now include the Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks. It appears the New England Patriots are steering clear of the 35 year old veteran tight end. New England has a dire need to replenish the position and Olsen would’ve be a great place to start.

It isn’t surprising that New England didn’t bite on Olsen though, due to the injuries he’s endured over the last three seasons. He’s dealt with a foot injury that’s sidelined him 30 out of the last 48 games with the Carolina Panthers.

On the FOX Sports pregame show before Super Bowl LIV, Olsen jokingly said he’s third in line for the Patriots if they didn’t retain Rob Gronkowski.

There was no real traction on whether or not the Patriots actually pursued Olsen or not. This leaves a free agent market that includes Eric Ebron, Tyler Eifert, Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper.

The Patriots currently have Matt LaCosse and Ryan Izzo at the position, which will not be adequate enough to operate this offense.
