Report: Giants WR Sterling Shepard will not play vs. Cardinals

The New York Giants are expected to have running backs Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Wayne Gallman (concussion), tight end Evan Engram (knee) and defensive lineman Olsen Pierre (concussion) back against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but will again be without wide receiver Sterling Shepard.

Although Shepard has made strides in his recovery this week, participating on a limited basis while donning a yellow non-contact jersey, he will not clear concussion protocol in time to suit up.

Shepard, of course, is battling his second concussion in a four-week span.

In Shepard absence, veteran Golden Tate will again take over in his place, while we can expect to see increased roles for Cody Latimer, the returning Bennie Fowler and rookie Darius Slayton, who is off to a hot start.
