Report: Giants will host LSU LB Devin White on top-30 visit

The New York Giants will likely have an opportunity to grab an elite defensive prospect in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and that could very well come by way of LSU linebacker Devin White.

A consensus top 10 pick, White put up impressive numbers at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and then again at LSU’s Pro Day on March 22. Now he’ll have an opportunity to replicate that for the Giants during a private top-30 visit.

Amie Just of NOLA.com reports that in addition to the Giants, White will also have a top-30 visit with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who pick one spot ahead of New York at No. 5 overall.

Former LSU linebacker Devin White has three pre-NFL Draft visits set with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants and the Cincinnati Bengals, he told NOLA.com.

The Butkus Award winner finished his LSU career with 286 total tackles (28.5 for a loss), 8.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one interception.

White, who is determined to go top 5, says one team has expressed so much interest in him that he anticipates they trade up to ensure landing him. He also suggested they could already be in range, which would fit the Giants.

“They’re probably willing to trade up or they probably already got the pick. I feel like they’ll take me,” White said of that team. “But I won’t know until April 25.”

In addition to White, the Giants will also have Maryland linebacker Tre Watson and FIU wide receiver Thomas Owens in for top-30 visits.
