Report: Giants request to interview Josh McDaniels

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is a hot candidate for head coaching vacancies. He is set to receive his third request for an interview. The New York Giants are showing interest in McDaniels, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns have also requested to interview McDaniels, per multiple reports.

McDaniels said Monday morning that he is “not even aware” of any of these interview requests.

“I’m 100 percent fully invested in trying to get ready for Tennessee (in the playoff wild-card round) and trying to put our best performance of the season out there on Saturday night,” he said on a conference call. “We have a lot of work to do. That’s really where my focus will be. That’s where it’s at now. And it’ll stay there. That’s the best thing for my team. That’s the best thing for me.”

McDaniels served two seasons as the Denver Broncos head coach. He has been the Patriots offensive coordinator from 2005 to 2008 and 2012 to present. He flirted with the idea of joining the Indianapolis Colts in February 2018, but bailed on them at the last minute. Nonetheless, he has been a hot candidate for multiple years running.
