Giants re-sign TE Scott Simonson

The New York Giants began addressing some of their own in-house free agents on Tuesday, re-signing tight end Scott Simonson to a one-year-deal.

Simonson, who originally signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft, appeared in 16 games for the Giants last season, hauling in nine receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown.

In addition to his time with the Raiders and Giants, Simonson also spent three years with the Carolina Panthers under then-general manager Dave Gettleman and was active during a Super Bowl 50 loss to the Denver Broncos.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Simonson was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agents in March, but will now be calling East Rutherford home for at least one more season.
