Report: Giants’ Kenny Golladay expected to miss 2-3 weeks

Overshadowed by a full-team brawl this past Tuesday, New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay suffered a hamstring injury and had to leave practice.

The good news is that the Giants avoided catastrophe and Golladay’s injury isn’t considered a “worst case scenario” or even a long-term issue.

“I would say, in terms of a worse-case scenario, I think we’ve kind of avoided that in terms of dealing with it, but we’ll see what the timetable looks like. And again, injuries are different for every player based on what they are, so we’ll have to see how his body responds and make sure we do right by him,” head coach Joe Judge told reporters on Wednesday.

The bad news is that Golladay is expected to miss up to three weeks, which puts his timetable for return around August 26 or so.

If that projection remains consistent and there are no setbacks, it’s possible Golladay returns earlier and is able to play in a Week 2 preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. More likely however, he’ll sit out until the team’s final preseason game against the New England Patriots.

Golladay was the Giants’ big offseason acquisition, signing a four-year, $72 million deal to become the No. 1 target of third-year quarterback Daniel Jones.
