Report: Giants’ Kadarius Toney will not be suspended by NFL

In the fourth quarter of a 44-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, New York Giants rookie wide receiver Karaius Toney was ejected after throwing a punch at Damontae Kazee.

The disqualification cut short Toney’s record-breaking performance (10 catches, 189 yards) and called into question his immediate future.

Would the league suspend Toney for his actions? Head coach Joe Judge refused to speculate.

“Look, there’s a pretty distinct line in terms of competing and doing the things we’re not going to condone as a team that put us behind. That’s not going to be accepted,” Judge told reporters after the game. “It’s not going to be condoned. That’s as far as I’m going to go with that. Obviously, it resulted in him leaving the game and I’m just going to leave it at that right now.”

The good news for Toney is that although a fine is likely, he will not be suspended for his transgression.

With the Giants offense now completely ravaged by injuries — including Toney himself — they’ll need the rookie over the next several weeks. He has rapidly become Jason Garrett’s No. 1 go-to option and his athleticism even wowed the Cowboys despite the fight.
