Report: Giants’ Kadarius Toney, Andrew Thomas will be active vs. Rams

New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney was a limited participant in practice all week and was ultimately deemed questionable with an ankle injury.

Left tackle Andrew Thomas missed Wednesday’s walkthrough and was then listed as limited on both Thursday and Friday with a foot injury. He, too, was listed as questionable.

Despite their injuries, both Toney and Thomas as expected to be “active” on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams barring pre-game setbacks, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“Active” doesn’t necessarily mean either will play, however.

Thomas was active in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys but did not play a single snap. After the 44-20 loss, head coach Joe Judge indicated he was active in the event of an emergency.

“We thought he was at a point where we were really just going to kind of bring him in and were going to use him in an emergency if needed,” Judge told reporters.

If Thomas doesn’t play on Sunday, expectations are that Matt Peart will start at left tackle and Nate Solder will start a right tackle — a complete reversal from a week ago.

Toney if further along than Thomas and despite his ankle injury, he is expected to take the field against Jalen Ramsey & Co. in Week 6.
