Report: Giants hire Courtney Kennedy as Football Data Analyst

The New York Giants and general manager Dave Gettleman have been repeatedly knocked for “falling behind” when it comes to the use and analytics and football data, but much of that stems from an established narrative.

In reality, the Giants have embraced analytics dating back to Tom Coughlin’s time as head coach, while Gettleman entered the 2020 NFL Draft as one of the few general managers with experience conducting the picks virtually.

The team continued their push to improve analytically on Tuesday, hiring Courtney Kennedy as a Football Data Analyst.

Kennedy, who graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, previously served as an intern with the team. Prior to that, she also served as an intern for the NBA and the MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays.

With an expertise in sports economics, statistical modeling and data analytics, Kennedy will help the Giants as they continue their evolution into one of the league’s most advanced and forward-thinking teams.
