Report: Giants got pick No. 132 back as part of Odell Beckham trade

The New York Giants traded wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday night in exchange for safety Jabrill Peppers, a first-round pick (No. 17) and a third-round pick (No. 95).

However, as it turns out, there was a little more to that deal.

In addition to picks No. 17 and No. 95, the Giants also got back the fourth-round pick (No. 132) they had sent to the Browns along with linebacker Olivier Vernon in exchange for guard Kevin Zeitler and a fifth-round pick (No. 155).

The Browns, meanwhile, now get that No. 155 back.

As Art Stapleton explains, it’s easier to breakdown the two trades as one.

Giants get: Guard Kevin Zeitler, safety Jabrill Peppers, No. 17 overall and No. 95 overall (through New England).

Browns get: Linebacker Olivier Vernon and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

In total, the Giants now have 12 picks in the 2019 NFL Draft and they are as follows:

  • No. 6 overall (Round 1)
  • No 17 overall (Round 1)
  • No. 37 overall (Round 2)
  • No. 95 overall (Round 3)
  • No. 108 overall (Round 4)
  • No. 132 overall (Round 4)
  • No. 142 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 143 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 171 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 180 overall (Round 6)
  • No. 232 overall (Round 7)
  • No. 245 overall (Round 7)

With such an abundance of picks, expect Giants general manager Dave Gettleman to make more trades as he continues to work on this rebuild.
