Report: Giants’ DeAndre Baker has yet to turn himself in

New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker had a warrant issued for his arrest on Thursday, stemming from a Wednesday night incident in which Baker, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar and a third person allegedly robbed multiple patrons at a private party in Florida.

Baker is expected to be charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Based on Florida’s 10/20/life law, Baker faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.

As of Friday morning, Baker has still not surrendered himself to police, reports Zack Rosenblatt of the Newark Star-Ledger.

According to the Miramar Police Department’s application for an arrest warrant, Baker had been contacted by an officer via phone, but promptly terminated the call. He has refused to answer all subsequent calls.

The Giants acknowledge they have been in contact with Baker, but offered no additional context.

“We are aware of the situation,” a Giants spokesperson said. “We have been in contact with DeAndre. We have no further comment at this time.”
